Publishing Workshop with Daniel Slager of Milkweed Editions

Book publishers have been connecting writers and readers for centuries, but the way this connection is made -- what it means to be a publisher -- has changed significantly in recent years. Daniel Slager, Publisher & CEO of Milkweed Editions, a leading independent literary press, will share his perspective on the changing industry, explaining how books come into the world, how writers approach publishers and submit work for consideration, and how Milkweed differentiates itself from other publishers. Q & A to follow the presentation.

Daniel Slager is the Publisher and CEO of Milkweed Editions, an independent literary press based in Minneapolis. Prior to joining Milkweed as Editor-in-Chief in 2005, he was an Editor at Harcourt Trade Publishers in New York. He is also a widely published translator from the German.
